Cycle Aylesbury: Bikeability Level 1 Training for Children aged 7+ and Families, Bikeability Level 2 Training for Children aged 9+

Haddenham Cycle Training is running a series of Training Days in 2010, funded by Cycle Aylesbury. All events are held in Aylesbury.

Training Days for Children aged 7 years+

The training follows the Bikeability Level 1 Syllabus and is held off-road, in the school playground. Ideal for those aged 7 and over who can ride without stabilisers, but who would like to learn new skills and gain confidence. All participants are awarded a Certificate, and those who achieve the Level 1 standard are awarded the Bikeability Level 1 Badge.

Each session lasts 2½ hours, to include a bike and helmet safety check at the start. Advance bookings only. These sessions are free. A £5 returnable deposit will be required to secure each place booked, which is refundable on the day to all those who attend.

Training for Families

Family Cycle Training is based on the Bikeability Level 1 Syllabus. Participants are trained in family groups, so adults can support their children and learn new skills at the same time! We include advice on checking bikes, going for family cycle rides, and riding as a group.

On-Road Cycle Training for Children aged 9+ who have achieved Bikeability Level 1

The training follows the Bikeability Level 2 Syllabus and is entirely on-road. Participants must have achieved Level 1 in order to take part and be at least 9 years old.

The training is delivered in three sessions of 2-3 hours (the first session if longer to allow enough time for bike checks). Participants are expected to attend all three sessions. Cycle Aylesbury sponsors Level 2 training £40 per trainee. Each participant will pay £15.
