Free Bikeability Level 1 Training for Children aged 7+ and Families in Aylesbury

Haddenham Cycle Training will be running a series of free Training Days throughout the Summer of 2009, funded by Cycle Aylesbury. All events will be held in Aylesbury, at the Thomas Hickman School.

Training Days for Children Aged 7 years+

The training will follow the Bikeability Level 1 Syllabus and will be held Off Road, in the school playground. Subjects covered will include starting and stopping, emergency stops, looking behind and signalling without wobbling, and confidence building cycling games. Ideal for those aged 7 and over who can ride without stabilisers, but who would like to learn new skills and gain confidence. All participants will be awarded a Certificate, and those who achieve the Level 1 standard will be awarded the Bikeability Level 1 Badge.

Each session lasts 2½ hours, to include a bike and helmet safety check at the start. Advance bookings only.

Training for Families

This will be based on the Level 1 Syllabus as above, but participants will be trained in family groups, so adults can support their children and learn new skills at the same time! We will include advice on checking bikes, going for family cycle rides, and riding as a group. All participants will be awarded a Certificate, and those who achieve the Level 1 standard will be awarded the Bikeability Level 1 Badge.

Each session lasts 2½ hours, to include a bike and helmet safety check at the start. Advance bookings only.
