In July 2011, a total of 10 children and 5 adults from 6 families joined the Haddenham to Thame Lighthouse Cycle Bus in July. The Bus made 9 journeys (no passengers one day!). That's potentially up to 6 cars a day that did not drive to or from Lighthouse.
Bucks MTB - Family Adventure Challenges
Bucks MTB Mountain Bike Club is organising two events this autumn:
- In the New Forest on the 17th September 2011 - Cycling and running / walking with your family in the New Forest. What
a great way of spending a September Saturday afternoon!
Imagine if you add in a bit of fun competition searching round the woods for orienteering checkpoints. That is the basic idea of a family adventure challenge. - In Wendover Woods on the 22nd October 2011 - Wendover Woods is a stunning location for this Challenge. Wendover Woods sits high
in the Chilterns, in fact the highest point in the Chilterns is just outside the wood, with
some unbelievable views across the Vale of Aylesbury.
It is an ideal venue for this event because it offers something for every competitor however big or small. Of course being in the Chilterns means that it is very hilly terrain with some very steep climbs, although don’t worry there will be plenty of checkpoints on the top of the hill.
