About Us

Haddenham Cycle Training has been active for over 10 years in the village. We started as a small group of volunteers teaching Biking Basics, and now have a large team of Instructors providing Bikeability training.

Haddenham Cycle Training is an Accredited Bikeability Scheme Provider, delivering cycle training in Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and surrounding counties.
We mainly offer cycle training to schools, but we also provide training to groups, families or individuals. We run training days and courses for children and families during the school holidays. We have successfully run tailored training for adults who feel they need to improve their confidence on a bike, or who simply want to know what their children are being taught!

Our aim is to promote safe cycling as well as improve the enjoyment, health and well-being of children and adults. We organise cycling activities and rides for many youth groups.

We train and assess children through a Progressive Training Package. We run Cycling Awareness Days from Reception to Year 4. We teach Biking Basics to Years 1 and 2, Bikeability Level 1 to Years 3 and 4, Bikeability Level 2 to Years 5, 6 and above, and Bikeability Level 3 to older Year 6 and secondary school children. Our programme of Scooter Training is progressive from Reception to Year 6.

In December 2010, we became an Instructor Training Organisation (ITO). The Department for Transport selected only 17 ITOs nationwide, an amazing achievement for an organisation of our size. We now train Cycling Instructors to deliver Bikeabililty training.

In November 2011 Haddenham Cycle Training became a Community Interest Company (CIC) and is a not-for-profit social enterprise. We use any surplus to improve cycling facilities in local schools and communities.

We always welcome more volunteers and we would be delighted to hear from anyone who is interesting in attending our National Standards Cycling Instructor course.
