Haddenham Cycle Training was set up by a group of parent volunteers in May 2005. We are now an enthusiastic team of five instructors, supported by voluntary assistants. We deliver Bikeability training in Haddenham and the surrounding area. Within our community, our aim is to promote safe cycling as well as improve the safety, health and well being of children and adults.
We train and assess children through a Progressive Training Package until they are ready to venture unaccompanied on the roads. We run Cycling Awareness Days from Reception to Year 4. We teach Biking Basics to Years 1 and 2 (aged 6+), Bikeability Level 1 to Years 3 and 4 (aged 7+) and Bikeability Level 2 to Years 5, 6 and above. Our programme of Scooter Training is progressive from Reception to Year 6. The training is both practical and theoretical, and it encourages the children to be and feel safe.
Haddenham Cycle Training is an Accredited Bikeability Scheme Provider, delivering cycle training in many local schools within the County of Buckinghamshire and in Thame, Oxfordshire. We also run training days and courses for children and families on behalf of Cycle Aylesbury. We organise cycling activities and rides for many youth groups and a monthly Bike Club to increase cycling opportunities and promote safe cycling.
We mainly offer cycle training to schools, but we also provide training to groups, individuals or families. We have successfully run tailored training for adults who feel they need to improve their confidence on a bike, or who simply want to know what their children are being taught!
We are a non profit making community cycle training organisation. We use any surplus to improve cycling facilities at Haddenham's schools and within the local community.
Haddenham Cycle Training always welcomes more volunteers and we would especially love to hear from Dads or Grandads, as we are primarily a group of working Mums at present!
